Zoom in on the zebras...

Old and new patients who have left the country have wanted to call on me for remote consultations via the Zoom application 😉 which I have been using since the first period of lockdown in 2020.

 

Zoom in English also means speed, rapidity and in French it means to focus on something.

 

 

The term zebra is a name that was proposed by the french psychologist Jeanne Siaud-Facchin , who notably wrote the books: "The Gifted Child" and "Too Intelligent to Be Happy", in order to go beyond the representations and expectations considered burdensome that we attach to the terms gifted, precocious, or high potential . I much prefer this name to the one of high potential because like zebras, their stripes are, to each of these funny zebras, unique and singular.

 

ZoomZèbre therefore focuses on high potentials, commonly called zebras in France, but also on highly sensitive people and empaths .

 

Not all zebras are highly sensitive and not all highly sensitive people are zebras. However, they both share common characteristics with empaths that can be difficult to manage and this particularity of often feeling out of step with their environment and having difficulty finding their place in this world which, it must be admitted, is not always benevolent, and even more and more disturbing.
